All good things must come to an end...
...and in my case this includes blogging.
I've given up an unreasonable amount of time, particularly in the last year, to blogging and generally political interaction. I cannot sustain it and have more pressing priorities. With regret, I will be finding alternative outlets for political expression - in all probabilty outside the Liberal Democrats.
I have enjoyed the stimulating discussions and conversations this blog has afforded me with fellow liberals, people from the LGBT community and others from across the political spectrum. I have appreciated your encouragement, your praise, your correcting me when I have plainly been wrong, your criticisms and your thoughtful comments on my work.
Thanks to all of you. Fortunately Scotland has a very healthy political blogosphere in which I will continue to have an ongoing interest!

Enjoyed your blog, thanks for taking the time to write!
Good luck with your future endeavours.
I may at some point in the future return to the blog, perhaps around the time of conference. I make no promises of such, but it's a possibility.
There are a myriad of factors behind my decision and while maintaining the blog has been a key part of my life for the previous two years it is only a small part of who I am, as indeed are my political interests.
I appreciate the compliments and good wishes of commenters on here and twitter. It's encouraging to think that people enjoy my writing and observations. However, I've been struggling to combine the blog with other priorities and feel reluctantly that the time has come to move on.
Thanks again to all of you - you can always find me on twitter!
Thanks for a number of engaging and thought-provoking posts!
Good luck with non-blogging pursuits.
(and to think im a nationalist and st mirren fan!)
I'm really sorry that that will be a pleasure denied me in the future, but I know exactly what you mean about the amount of time blogging takes.
I wish you the very best of luck in the future in whatever you are doing. I cannot believe that it will not be in politics, for your mind is most surely a political one.
I hope if you decide to write again, you will let me know so that I can follow you.
Bonne continuation.
Tristan.
I have been following your blogg for quite some time now, and I have always appreciated your articles.
As someone who keeps a blog myself, I understand fully why you feel that you have come to this point, but I hope you will return again in the future and give us all the benefit of your thoughts and analysis of events.
In the neantime, All best wishes.

It can take over your life, though and sometimes taking a little break can help get things back in perspective and priority.
Hope to see you around the blogosphere commenting and discussing - and you aren't giving up Twitter, are you?
